The Henx is a small stream, dry one part of the year, where floods are sudden and frequent. To protect people and properties from the floodings, the Communauté de Commune of Lacq has decided to ask the company Hydraulic Environment Aquitaine to make beforehand a hydraulic study to design a flood clipper structure. HEA has divided the study into two main phases, which are the study of the watershed and the associated courses and hydrological study of the same river water.
In order to have a practical approach of the problem, an examination of all the key points and all the works of the network has been done. This field study has also identified the potential location of the future work clipper flood. A survey has been lead among the population and elected representatives to collect a maximum of datas related to the Henx floodings.
The collect of these informations, combined with those collected in the databases of Météo France and the various formulas and methods from literature references (time of concentration, rational method, Gradex method, etc …) had lead to an estimation of the rate of Henx year flood. Maybe this estimation will well size the structure and its sluices.
